Rental Requirements — What You Need to Rent a Car at Senda

To rent from Senda you need to be at least 21 years old, present a valid driver's license from any country, show ID matching the license, and have a payment method for the rental and a refundable security deposit. There is no young-driver surcharge for ages 21–24, no "International Driving Permit required" rule, and no mandatory credit card.

Most national chains add $25–$30/day for drivers aged 21–24. Senda does not. The 21+ floor exists for insurance reasons, not pricing reasons.

Driver's license

  • US driver's licenseAny state, original, not expired.
  • Foreign driver's licenseAny country, original, in any language, not expired. We do not require an International Driving Permit (IDP), but one is helpful if your license is not in the Latin alphabet.
  • Digital licensesMost US states' mobile licenses are accepted. Bring the physical card too as backup.

Identification

  • US driversDriver's license is sufficient ID at pickup.
  • International driversPassport in addition to the foreign license. Passport must be valid for at least the rental duration.

We make a copy of your license and ID at pickup, kept securely on file.

Payment

  • For the rentalCash, Zelle, PayPal, bank transfer, or major card.
  • For the depositSame flexible methods, refundable on return.

A credit card is not required. Many national chains require a credit card with a $200–$500 hold for the deposit; Senda accepts cash, Zelle, PayPal, or debit card for the deposit instead.

Driving record

For most reservations Senda does not run a separate motor vehicle records check at pickup. The exceptions are long-term (30+ days) rentals and premium / sports cars, where a clean recent driving history may be required.

  • One-way rentalsOne-way drops within Miami-Dade are usually free. One-way to FLL, PortMiami, or out-of-county addresses incur a one-way fee. Disclose at booking.
  • Premium / sports / convertibleConvertible Mustang, Charger, Camaro, etc. require an age 25+ primary driver in some seasons. We will tell you at booking.

Frequently asked

I'm 22. Can I rent at Senda without a young-driver fee?
Yes. Senda does not charge a young-driver surcharge for drivers aged 21–24. The headline rate is the same regardless of age.
My driver's license is not in English. Will Senda accept it?
Yes. Senda accepts driver's licenses in any language and any alphabet. If your license is not in the Latin alphabet, an IDP makes the pickup process faster, but it's not required.
Do I need a return ticket to rent in Miami?
No. Senda does not require proof of an outbound flight or cruise to rent.
Can my friend pick up the car for me?
The driver who reserved must be the driver who picks up — they sign the contract. If your friend will also drive, add them as an additional driver at pickup (free for the first additional driver).
Can I extend a rental in progress?
Yes, by phone or WhatsApp, subject to availability. Extensions are charged at the standard daily rate; long extensions can convert to weekly or monthly rates.
What if I have points on my US license?
Standard rentals do not require a clean record. Premium / sports cars and long-term rentals may. Disclose at booking; we'll let you know.
What's the latest I can pick up after my flight lands?
Senda's standard hours are Mon–Sun · 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST. After-hours pickup is available with prior arrangement; a small fee may apply.
